Product: 2014 Bowman
Break Date: May 4, 2014
Hit Breakdown: One autograph
Summary: I was just feelin' it when I walked into the LCS to pick up a box of 2014 Bowman jumbo...but they didn't have jumbo.
So, I decided to pick up a regular box, but as the saying goes, you never leave the last box, and they only had two left, so I negotiated with the dude at the store, and basically got the second box at half off.
I cracked the first box, and unfortunately, the auto in the box was in the first pack, leaving the rest a bit anti-climactic. But, it was a nice refractor auto, /500 - Enny Romero, a Rays prospect. The rest of the box was decent - there was a blue refractor, numbered to 250.
There was decent color out of the paper parallels, a few /500 blue (Anthony Rizzo and Chris Kohler) and an orange /250, Jorge De La Rosa. Then the last pack yielded a nice mini - an orange Kyle Zimmer, numbered to 50.
We went to dinner, and after we got back, I opened up the second box.
This one had some rarer paper color - a gold /50 (Shane Victorino), an orange /250 (Wil Myers), and another blue /500 (Andre Rienzo). Bowman issued a retro Silver Diamond refractor this year, and there was a nice Jeter. The auto wasn't numbered - it was a Christian Binford, a KC pitcher.
But...
The box did include a nice hot pack! I opened the last pack in the bottom left side of the box, and noticed it was all blue and shiny! It was a Blue Wave refractor pack - it included a few base cards and five Blue Wave refractors - one of which was a /50 auto, Lewis Thorpe!
This is why you never leave the last box :)
