2014 Topps Gypsy Queen blaster x2

Sport:  Baseball
Product:  2014 Topps Gypsy Queen
Break Date:  April 15, 2014
Hit Breakdown:  None
Summary:  With the success of my first '14 Gypsy Queen blaster, figured I'd give it another shot (or two). While this break wasn't quite as productive as the first one, it was still solid.

With two blasters in hand, I got to crackin'. The first blaster produced two serial-numbered minis, and remarkably, they were two PC cards - Cardinals pitchers Trevor Rosenthal (black /199) and Joe Kelly (/99). Serial-numbered minis seem to be coming out at a rate of two per blaster, which is nice - especially if you pull the right player. The Tanaka I pulled out of the first blaster sold on eBay quickly, and the money basically paid for that blaster and one of these.

The N174 inserts continue to impress me - I love the retro look, and these would be great for getting autographed.

The second blaster continued the two-numbered-minis-per-blaster trend: a black James Loney and a red Tim Hudson. There was an N174 Mike Trout insert, a cool Pedro Martinez Dealing Aces, and for the second consecutive blaster, a Debut All-Stars Felix Hernandez. To top it off, the last pack had a mini relic, an Evan Gattis jersey card.

So, the tally stands at three blasters, three red /99 minis, three black /199 minis, and two mini relic jersey cards. It's a pretty nice output, to be honest. Gypsy Queen continues to impress; the nice hits, the great design, and the good blend of veteran, retired stars, and rookies make it my favorite baseball product.
